This is my perennial area and it keeps being invaded by grasses and lesser bindweed. I have given it a good thrashing and now it looks a lot better. My asparagus is starting to thrive, which I am delighted about, as I have never had much luck previously. The grape vine is really starting to mature also and the rhubarb has grown into a giant.
It has been such a challenging year – 2024, cold and windy, blasts of rain late spring early summer and now mainly unseasonably cold and dry. Not normal growing conditions. The slugs have had a ball with it all and the plants have been stressed. I am happy that anything has survived.
I am continuing to clear and keep planting out. Something will do well.
